Guys, Just FYI, I will be on the same flight as you all on August 1st from Houston to Panama City, and will be leaving on August 22nd, 1 day earlier than you all. =) Rachel, do you need any help with arranging for reservations at hotels or anything? Emily - Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -

Rachel, Here's the info on where/when we'll need lodging over the trip. The following sites provide info on the pricing. We've currently allocated $500 for all lodging expenses...which means hostels & pensions whenever possible We should probably make reservations in the next couple of days to ensure we get decent pricing. Let me know if there's any more info I can get you!    - *2 nights in Panama City (Aug 1-3rd) *- 6 people

Hi Emily! I spoke with Rachel yesterday and she mentioned you would be coordinating with Aly to reserve lodging in Panama. If you need any suggestions, both Joe and Alysha offered to help by speaking with a few of their contacts in Panama. (I've CCed them on this message.) In regards to Boquete, Rahul has been talking with Rotary member Christine Steinkrauss. (I've pasted her latest message below.) However, the hotel room rates she suggests seem a bit expensive compared with the hostels in the surrounding area. Joe stayed in one he particularly liked, though the primary concern would be our inability to lock up surveying equipment, though the Rotary members may be able to help us with that. Let me know what I can do to help! Natalie

Hey, This is Laura's feedback. Her recommendations are usually on the cheap side. Good luck, A~ I almost always stay at Hotel California in Panama City.  It's in the neighborhood Bella Vista which is safe and easy to walk to many restaurants.  (It's where we stayed the night before you left Panama.)  The phone number is 263-7736, country code +507.  If they are more adventurous/broke  I also stay at Hostel Voyager alot.  It's really cheap, and I've never had anything stolen.  No hot water here.  Phone number is 260-5913 or 223-3687

I was actually coordinating with another woman I know from ACD, named Laila, bc she made the reservations for us in Changuinola last time. BUT, i wrote her about 3 days ago to ask for her help and haven't heard back. So I think that we should just go ahead and call the Pension and Hotel Semiramis ourseleves ASAP, as well as whatever hotel we decide on in Boquete, and make reservations. I would prefer not to do this right now as I am sick and in the midst of moving in and unpacking all of our crap, and am without internet. Rachel's Spanish is better than mine anyway =). It will be really easy to call, we just need to do it. You can use a cell phone with international calling, or sometimes a an office phone of a prof we know at UT that doesn't mind. Aly is not goof with e-mail, so she wouldn't really be helpful for doing reservations. Sorry. Emily On Sun, Jul 19, 2009 at 12:36 PM, Natalie Craik <gnat.cr...@gmail.comwrote: Hi Emily!
